The 6th edition of the Junior Science and Maths Quiz (JSMQ) officially kicked off in the Northern Region, marking the start of this year’s contest which has drawn participation from more than 80 schools nationwide. For the first time, the competition has expanded to eight regions, with the Volta Region joining the roster.

The opening contest of the Northern Regional preliminaries featured Sagnerigu Girls Model JHS, Dahin Shelli M/A JHS, and Kalpohin Kamaria Islamic JHS. In an exciting showdown, Dahin Shelli M/A JHS delivered a sterling performance, scoring 66 points to claim the first slot in the Northern Regional qualifiers.

Sagnerigu Girls Model JHS and Kalpohin Kamaria Islamic JHS bowed out of the contest with 17 points and 8 points respectively.

With this victory, Dahin Shelli JHS has set the pace for what promises to be an exciting season of intellectual battles. As the competition unfolds, all eyes are on which schools will rise to the challenge and who will ultimately claim the coveted 2025 JSMQ crown.
