KNUST Junior Science and Maths Quiz Hosts First-Ever Virtual Regional Quiz

The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has made a significant stride in the promotion of science education by hosting its first-ever virtual regional edition of the Junior Science and Maths Quiz. This innovative move marks a new chapter in the competition’s history, expanding its reach and ensuring wider participation amidst the dynamics of technology and education.

The competition, aimed at encouraging Junior High School students to excel in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), has drawn participation from students across the Ashanti, Greater Accra, Western, Northern, Eastern, and Central regions of Ghana to compete in a series of intellectually stimulating rounds focused on STEM.

At the opening ceremony of the 2024 edition of the quiz competition, the Board Chair, Professor Kwasi Preko, expressed his enthusiasm for the introduction of the virtual quiz. He remarked that this innovative model has the potential to become a pivotal feature in future editions of the competition, as it opens new opportunities for participation from a wider range of schools across Ghana.

In line with this vision, Professor Preko made an earnest call to corporate bodies, educational institutions, and other stakeholders to come on board and support this initiative. He stressed that by backing this effort, organisations would be investing in the future of science and technology education and nurturing the next generation of innovators.
