Three Northern Region Schools Qualify for 2024 JSMQ National Championship
Three schools from the Northern Region, Belhaven Montessori School, SOS Hermann Gmeiner School, and Grace Holy Child Academy, have secured places in the 2024 Junior Science and Maths Quiz (JSMQ) National Championship. Following an intense series of regional qualifiers held at the IDL Centre in Tamale from 28th to 31st October 2024, these schools emerged victorious, demonstrating outstanding academic performance.
Grace Holy Child Academy set the pace in their qualifier with a strong 49 points, outshining Bagabaga College of Education Model School, which scored 34 points, and Sagnerigu Girls Model JHS, which finished with 23 points. SOS Hermann Gmeiner School also claimed victory, advancing with 37.5 points after defeating Dahin Shelli M/A JHS, who scored 34 points, and Faith College with 24 points.
Belhaven Montessori School rounded off the Northern Region’s qualifiers, achieving 47 points to secure a spot in the national competition. They defeated Kamina Barracks JHS, who scored 20.5 points, and Tamale International School, who scored 29 points.
These three schools are now poised to represent the Northern Region at the national level, bringing with them hopes of claiming the title of 2024 JSMQ champion.
